ESGO/INCIP Guidelines

New ESGO/INCIP Guidelines on Gynecological Cancers in Pregnancy Published

We are proud to announce the publication of updated international guidelines on the management of gynecological cancers during pregnancy, developed by the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO) in collaboration with the International Network on Cancer, Infertility and Pregnancy (INCIP).

These updated guidelines build on the outcomes of three international consensus meetings organized by ESGO with leading experts in the field. The aim: to provide clear, evidence-based recommendations for healthcare professionals and support pregnant patients facing gynecological cancers. The guidelines reflect the latest scientific developments and expand on earlier editions by addressing new topics and ensuring a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach.

A dedicated international development group, including 21 experts from various disciplines and two cancer survivors, worked on the guidelines. Systematic literature reviews and critical appraisals formed the evidence base, and where data were lacking, expert consensus guided the recommendations. The draft was reviewed by 100 independent practitioners worldwide and three patient representatives to ensure a truly global and patient-centered perspective.

The guidelines cover all aspects of care, including imaging, pathology, surgery, medical oncology, obstetrics, radiotherapy, psychological support, patient perspectives, and pediatric follow-up, for tubo-ovarian, cervical, and vulvar cancers during pregnancy. Tumor-specific treatment algorithms are also included.

We are grateful to all contributors and reviewers who helped make these guidelines a valuable resource for clinical decision-making worldwide.
